The team behind
Marketing for Merchants
Alongside Charlotte Jewell and Chris Osborn, Marketing for Merchants works with three long-standing specialist freelancers: Amanda on graphic design, Elliott on SEO, and Glen on sales and ERP consultancy. You get their expertise on the months you need it, without carrying any of them on a payroll.

Charlotte Jewell
Founder and Managing Director
Chartered Marketer, in marketing since 2010, founded the business in December 2022. Runs the marketing side: strategy, content and reporting.

Chris Osborn
Commercial Director
Four years at Kingfisher, the group behind B&Q and Screwfix, most recently running a kitchen sinks and taps range. Runs the commercial side.
Amanda, Graphic Design

Amanda has designed for Marketing for Merchants for years. Brand identities, brochures, billboards, social artwork, in-branch print. If it needed designing, Amanda designed it.
She has worked in marketing since 2006 and holds an MSc in Management with Marketing and a CIM Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing from Oxford College of Marketing.
Twenty years leading marketing and communications across social care, education, engineering, manufacturing and the third sector: launching brands, running rebrands, and building marketing functions that did not exist before she got there.
You buy hours, not deliverables
Elliott, SEO
Elliott runs our SEO audits and the technical work that comes out of them. He has a degree in Business Management and has worked in digital marketing since 2017, on the ecommerce side, where SEO gets judged on revenue rather than rankings.
He previously worked for a large UK "adult toy" brand, and now works in-house for an online retailer of designer wallpaper, fabric, rugs and made to measure furnishings. A site carrying thousands of product lines against a real stock position is the same problem whether it sells wallpaper or plasterboard.

Glen, Sales & ERP Consultancy

Glen has spent 35 years selling ERP software and running sales teams, most of it into wholesalers, merchants and distributors. He was previously a Director of Blue Rock Systems, which supplied ERP to small and medium sized businesses in exactly that market, and where Charlotte worked for a period.
He works with us on sales strategy, market research, lead generation and getting ERP systems to stop getting in the way of the people using them. His methods come from 35 years of doing it rather than from a textbook, and he is direct about what is not working.
Why it works this way

You get a designer with twenty years and a master's, an SEO who does this full time for a large ecommerce retailer, and a consultant who sold ERP into merchants for three and a half decades.
None of them is on our payroll.
An agency would have to keep them busy, so it would sell you their hours whether you needed them or not. We bring in whoever the job needs, for as long as it needs them. Most months that is nobody but us.
